Jean-Louis Trudel has been a mentor to me, and an ideal to strive for. Not only was he a productive writer, but a hard-SF with a lot of humanism in his stories. And he started very young, so his formidable production topped 200+ short-stories published in several languages.
I told on this blog that, had I not met JLT at a comic book launch in 1995, I would not have become a SF writer myself, counting 100 published short-stories, twenty novels in trad-pub, plus 45+ books in my own imprint Échofictions.
So I felt urgent to have a gathering of fans, readers and fellow writers, to mark his passing and share anecdotes (I have a few.) Jean-Louis was an immense author of French and English science fiction whose works impacted a lot of us.
The special gathering will be held on Sunday Oct. 18 at the Can*Con
between 11h30 -12h30 at the Mulligan room, on the first floor of the Brookstreet Hotel.
As the schedule is full, you don’t have to stay for the full hour: drop in for a few minutes of quiet reminiscing and watching some pics.
